    Mike has over 28 years in the Home Furnishings Industry, working for two leading fortune 500 companies, each with over $1B in annual sales. Mike’s diverse management experience with Hunter Douglas Corporation, has included managing over 150 employees and 2,000 accounts, managing sales, marketing, distribution, two manufacturing facilities, three call centers, accounts payable, and two separate business unit accounts receivable departments with sales of $60+M in annual revenue. As Director of Sales & Marketing with Wilsonart International, Mike grew North American sales for the Specialty Products Division from $20M to $120M+ in only five years. A seasoned business professional, Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Oklahoma.

    Mike Weddington Consulting Group (MWCG) is a Company of business experts specializing in supporting small business needs in sales, traditional and social media marketing, operations, accounting, technology and training. We help small business owners create a comprehensive Business Plan which serves as a blueprint to run and expand their business and achieve their vision and financial success. In close collaboration, we focus our attention on the detailed elements of the Business Plan.

    Works in partnership with the CEO and other key members on financial planning, budgeting, investment, and policy matters

    Serves as the management liaison to the board of directors Managing and supporting the operation manager overseeing accounting function.  Account payable and receivable

    Provides analytical support to MW Consulting Group’s internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities

    Darrell Weddington is a Highly accomplished Director of Sales, Division Manager, Executive Strategist, Regional Manager and General Manager with 20+ years of success managing early start-ups, underperforming and multi-state direct, distributor, OEM, and retail sales organizations.

    He is a Sales Executive experienced in managing national, regional and distributor sales organizations generating as much as $200M in annual revenues. He has been successful in developing and executing strategic plans to meet the needs of a rapidly changing consumer marketplace, developing new business against tough market competition, and grow year-over-year sales as much as 43%.

    Darrell has directed large and small--scale business operations; created enterprise-wide solutions to drive sales, revenue, and profit growth; and produced excellence across all business segments for government-funded organizations, private businesses, and corporate subsidiaries.

    He has been a Key internal Consultant for 1000’s of organizations trusted to provide business analysis, strategic advice, and recommendations to improve operational success across entire operations.

    He is a disciplined budget administrator experienced in administering budgets and successfully executing programs to enhance the value of each organization, reduce operating expense, control expenditures, and retain fiscal responsibility.

    He has been responsible for delivering numerous solutions to promote customer value, make it easier to do business with customers, and improving services across diverse sales, marketing, distribution, warehouse, and customer care areas. Darrell is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with B.B.A.’s in Management and Marketing. He earned a football scholarship to the University of Oklahoma and was a member of two conference championship teams and 3 bowl championship teams. He is an award winning performer having won awards for Sales Growth, Profitability, Operational Efficiency, and Customer Satisfaction, as well as the Highest Achievement Award from Dale Carnegie, 6 Superior Accomplishment Awards, 10 Excellence Awards, and 5 Proficiency awards.

    Porscha Weddington is responsible for employer branding, marketing and communications in North America for The Nielsen Company’s Talent Acquisition department. She manages the redesign of Nielsen’s global career site, digital marketing recruiting efforts, online advertising and analytics. She also manages the social media strategy and platforms including the Nielsen Careers Facebook page, which was recognized as the No. 1 University Facebook Page by AfterCollege Blog, and her work was featured in “The Social Media Showcase” by CEB Recruiting Leadership Counsel.Her scope includes working with associates and senior leaders in China, Singapore, India, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Before working at Nielsen, she was one of 15 candidates chosen to attend a nine-week summer fellowship with the International Radio & Television Society (IRTS). While working in New York City, Porscha gained experience with The Nielsen Company, Viacom, NBC and The Huffington Post. After the fellowship, Weddington transitioned into a full-time position with The Nielsen Company.Porscha earned a Master of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Kansas. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, she taught two undergraduate journalism courses on advertising and marketing communications. Her studies focused on advertising, marketing and public relations. She also received a four-year scholarship to play basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Business. Porscha received Big 12 First-Team All-Academic honors and was selected for the University of Kansas Athletic Director Academic Award.

    Kyle Larson is currently finishing the Master of Science in Computer Information Technology program at Northern Kentucky University. His studies focus on network and data security, database management and data forensics. Kyle also serves as a graduate assistant and works on web administration, IT support, video database management and social media management. He also assists with the College of Education’s marketing materials by producing and editing videos, graphics and other digital media.Kyle worked for the athletic department at Flagler College as the assistant for public relations and sports information. While there, he oversaw the social media strategy and platforms for the athletic department while assisting with the management of the college’s athletic website. He developed the branding and messaging of the college’s online video presence. Kyle also managed and directed the video and radio broadcast of Flagler’s home athletic events.Kyle received his Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Kansas. While at Kansas, his studies focused on public relations, broadcasting and marketing.

    Kristen Grimmer is a doctoral candidate in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. She is currently finishing her dissertation and anticipates graduating in May 2016 with her Ph.D.Kristen’s research agenda is founded upon gender and the roles women have in the media. Her dissertation specifically examines female characters in popular culture that engage in political violence. She also studies the communication strategies athletes use with the media to restore their public images after a crisis.Kristen was awarded a graduate teaching assistantship upon acceptance into her doctoral program and has taught a variety of classes in the journalism school including Media and Society, Infomania, and Media Writing. Kristen is also a founding member of the committee to create an online master’s program geared toward professionals in communications for her journalism school. The Master’s in Digital Content Strategy program is set to launch in June 2016 and Kristen will be one of the professors for the program’s first class.Aside from her academic studies, Kristen enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels and taking care of her two pet Shelties.
